DWF is seeking a Claims Examiner for our Canadian office to handle delegated claims administration for Lloyd’s Syndicates, with a focus on Legal Expense Insurance, General Liability, and Wrap-Up Liability.

You will oversee investigations, analyze liability and coverage, manage reserves, and coordinate with external adjusters and counsel to achieve timely, cost-effective settlements; bilingual English/French is an asset.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma.
• Minimum of 5 years of liability claims experience.
• CIP designation completed or in progress preferred.
• Ontario Insurance Adjuster Licence or equivalent.
• Independent Adjuster or TPA experience is a strong asset.
• Ability to work independently and learn from multiple sources.
• Excellent oral and written communication; bilingual English/French an asset.
• Team player with strong client service orientation.

Responsabilités

• Manage investigation of claims with external adjusters and counsel.
• Analyze liability, damages, and causation to assess exposure.
• Assess policy coverage and quantum; provide claims analysis.
• Guide litigation strategies and oversee defence budgets.
• Prepare reports for Underwriters and facilitate claim payments.
• Establish and manage claim reserves within delegated authority.
• Maintain detailed file notes and time records for governance and billing.
• Deliver exceptional client service with brokers and clients.
• Mentor junior staff and uphold claims handling standards.
