Job summary

Aramark Canada is seeking an Occupational Safety Specialist to oversee safety programs for Remote camp operations in Cochrane, Ontario. The role requires building relationships with the local Operations Team and influencing leaders to execute safety programs effectively.

The position involves work in Remote Lodge locations with a 2 weeks on-site / 2 weeks off rotation; remote lodges/camp experience is a plus, and transportation is provided. Comprehensive benefit plan is available.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a role with Occupational Health and safety responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, industry best practices.
• Comfortable with frequent computer usage; good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Implement the Aramark SAFE program.
• Develop and/or modify safety policies and programs.
• Analyze results and benchmark data to provide recommendations to leadership to improve safety performance.
• Minimize liability exposures.
• Initial point of contact for safety incidents and with enforcement agencies (Ministry of Labour, Public Health etc.).
• Participate in all Board of Inquiries for safety incidents.
• Prepare and distribute results/findings to internal and external customers.
• Conduct audits and inspections.
• Complete risk assessments, identify opportunities and build plans to address risk proactively.
• Draft and distribute monthly safety bulletin to all leaders at the remote Camp.
• Determine trends and create preventative corrective action plans.
• Ensure participation and alignment with site safety programs.
• Conduct new staff orientations.
• Investigate all safety events (Occupational and Food Safety).
