Job summary

Tim's Financial is seeking an Intermediate CAD Designer to create and manage detailed 2D and 3D models for engineering and product-development projects. The role translates sketches into precise drawings while following industry standards and internal quality requirements.

The position supports project engineers and senior designers, with remote, full-time work and a salary range of CAD 62,000–106,000 plus a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• College diploma in mechanical engineering design and/or drafting technology.
• 2–5 years of professional CAD drafting experience.
• Proficiency in one or more major CAD platforms (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Inventor, Creo).
• Strong understanding of dimensioning, tolerancing, and drafting standards (GD&T).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Produce and revise 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
• Interpret sketches, specifications, and design notes to develop technical documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure design intent is captured.
• Maintain drawing accuracy via version control and drafting standards (ASME Y14).
• Prepare layouts, assemblies, and BOMs as required.
• Conduct basic design calculations to validate dimensions and tolerances.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback.
• Support manufacturing/construction/fabrication packages.
• Identify issues and propose solutions to improve manufacturability.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and project requirements.
