Job summary

Vertex Resource Group Ltd. in the Greater Toronto Area seeks a senior engineering professional to lead and build our Building Condition Assessment (BCA) and Property Condition Assessment (PCA) service line.

This role is remote/hybrid, with compensation of $100,000 to $140,000 annually, and offers the chance to establish methodology, train field teams, and deliver defensible assessments for lenders, investors, and property owners across Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, Building Science, or related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing with Engineers (PEO) or Geoscientists of Ontario (PGO).
• 10+ years of experience in building science, engineering consulting, property condition assessment, or a related field, with significant BCA/PCA and capital planning experience.
• Strong understanding of building systems, construction practices, deterioration mechanisms, maintenance requirements, and lifecycle performance.
• Experience training, mentoring, and overseeing field-based assessment teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead BCA/PCA service line development and technical leadership.
• Build, train, and mentor a team of technologists, inspectors, engineers, and field staff.
• Establish QA/QC processes to ensure reports are accurate and defensible.
• Oversee projects across Ontario properties with timely delivery and client alignment.
• Coordinate with Vertex’s engineering and technical disciplines and external specialists.
