Job summary

Vertex is seeking a senior engineering professional to lead and build our Building Condition Assessment (BCA) and Property Condition Assessment (PCA) service line. You will establish scalable delivery, form field teams, standardize inspection methods, and implement QA/QC to deliver clear, defensible assessments.

As Engineer of Record, you will review reports to meet ASTM standards, act as the technical authority, and drive growth across Canada and the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Building Science Engineering
• Engineering designation in good standing with a Canadian provincial regulator
• 10+ years of experience in building sciences with BCA/PCA and capital planning
• Proven experience training and overseeing field-based assessment teams
• Strong technical writing for client-ready reports

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead Vertex’s BCA/PCA service line with standards and delivery model
• Develop field teams, inspection protocols, and QA/QC systems
• Act as Engineer of Record and ensure compliance with provincial regulations
• Oversee project execution across commercial, industrial, and multi-residential properties
• Drive growth into reserve fund studies and condo/strata markets across Canada and the U.S.
