Job summary

Cresta is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (AI Agent Integrations) to build production-grade backend services that connect Cresta's AI Agents with customers' CCaaS platforms, handling real-time conversations and secure data flows.

The role focuses on scalable backend systems, real-time state management, and seamless AI-to-human handoffs, collaborating with ML researchers and ensuring high availability in enterprise environments. Remote work in Canada is supported.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years building scalable backend systems in production.
• Experience designing robust APIs (REST, gRPC).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and real-time architectures.
• Experience integrating with CCaaS or enterprise platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI Agents, or LLM-based systems is a plus.
• Experience with containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable backend services that integrate Cresta's AI Agents with CCaaS platforms.
• Architect systems for real-time conversation state and session lifecycle.
• Implement seamless AI-to-human handoff with full context transfer.
• Develop secure integrations with CCaaS APIs (voice, chat, messaging, routing).
• Collaborate with ML engineers to operationalize AI capabilities in production.
• Ensure high availability, low latency, and strong observability for real-time systems.
• Apply security best practices across integrations.
• Drive reliability, performance, and scalability in high-volume environments.
