Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Remote Automotive Technical Writer to translate complex automotive software and hardware into clear manuals, installation guides, API references, and online help content.

You will collaborate with engineering, product management, and support teams to ensure documentation meets high standards of quality and usability for a global automotive technology provider. The role is fully remote with flexible scheduling and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in automotive/technology.
Proven ability to write clear, concise, accurate technical documentation.
Familiarity with automotive systems, software lifecycles, and related tech.
Proficiency with documentation tools such as MadCap Flare, Oxygen XML Editor, or similar.
Excellent research, interviewing, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Research, write, and edit technical documentation including user manuals, installation guides, API docs, and troubleshooting guides.
Collaborate with SMEs to gather information and ensure technical accuracy.
Organize and structure information for maximum clarity and ease of use.
Develop content for print, web, and interactive formats.
Maintain and update documentation to reflect product changes.
Ensure consistent style, tone, and terminology across all documentation.
