Take a Hike Foundation seeks two alumni to serve as paid Alumni Facilitators with the Youth Advisory Circle (YAC) for the 2026–27 school year. You will co-facilitate three YAC sessions with current Take a Hike youth, receive coaching, and help shape how Take a Hike supports young people.

You will lead session preparation, engage in debriefs, and contribute to a transition plan for Year 2, building a peer‑led model that endures beyond your term.

Qualifications

• Take a Hike alum with lived experience in the program.
• Comfortable speaking in a group and have an interest in facilitation or leadership.
• Reliable, communicative, and willing to show up prepared.
• This is a remote position; all sessions will be held online with access to a computer and reliable internet.
• Start date is October 2026.

Responsabilités

• Co-facilitate three YAC sessions with current Take a Hike youth during the 2026–27 school year.
• Help create a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment where youth feel heard and valued.
• Attend a pre-session planning meeting before each YAC session to review goals and approach.
• Learn to prepare all meeting materials, with coaching support from City Hive in early sessions.
• Take increasing ownership of materials development across the three sessions, aiming to independently prepare materials by Session 3.
• Connect with your City Hive coach to build confidence and skills ahead of each session.
• Participate in post-session debriefs after each YAC meeting and summarize feedback.
• Share your perspective as a Take a Hike alum to help shape future sessions and the alumni facilitation model.
• Contribute to a transition plan for Year 2 and document learnings to support the next alumnus.
