$65.00 – $70.00 per hour

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and licensed Pharmacist to act as the Interim Pharmacy Manager (Licensee) for a high-volume pharmacy in Vancouver, BC. This is a 4-month contract position to cover a leave.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, has strong leadership skills to manage support staff, and is proficient in managing a high-volume methadone/suboxone program. While experience with the WinRx system is an asset, it is not required as training can be provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Management & Compliance: Act as the Licensee and Pharmacy Manager, ensuring compliance with College of Pharmacists of BC standards and regulations.
  • Dispensing & Verification: Oversee the accurate dispensing and final verification of prescriptions.
  • High-Volume OAT Program: Manage the pharmacy’s Opioid Agonist Treatment (OAT) program, which includes approximately 160-170 Methadone/Suboxone patients daily.
  • Workflow Management: Supervise and delegate tasks to a robust support team.
  • Patient Care: Provide clinical consultations, including walk-in services (approx. 60-70 patients daily).
  • Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth operations during the 4-month term, managing schedules and workflow efficiency.
Work Schedule & Hours
  • Shift Times: 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Hours: Up to 50 hours per week.
  • Weekends: Required, though shifts may be shorter on weekends.
Volume & Support Structure
  • This is a high-volume location processing approximately 300 prescriptions per day.
You will be supported by a dedicated team:
  • 2 Registered Pharmacy Technicians (RPhTs): One dedicated to paperwork and one dedicated to prep work.
  • OAT Support: The majority of Methadone deliveries are handled by an LPN and a Driver, minimizing in-store congestion.
Qualifications
  • Licensing: Must be a Registered Pharmacist in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of BC (CPBC).
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Pharmacy Manager or Licensee is preferred.
  • Experience with high-volume OAT/Methadone is a strong asset.
Skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
Technical
  • Familiarity with WinRx is helpful but not mandatory.
