Job summary

CareRx is seeking a Pharmacist for our Parksville pharmacy to ensure accurate and safe dispensing of prescriptions while delivering high-quality pharmaceutical patient care. The role involves verifying medication administration, assessing critical medications, palliative care prescriptions, and coordinating drug deliveries with the delivery team.

You will collaborate with the pharmacy team to maintain high standards of service, comply with regulations, and support residents and home partners

Qualifications

  • Licensed pharmacist in good standing with the BC College of Pharmacists.
  • Strong partnership with health care team.
  • Excellent organization and time management.
  • Knowledge of Kroll Windows application.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.
  • Long-term pharmacy experience is an asset.
  • Injections certification and APA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all members of the pharmacy team to ensure medication orders are dispensed accurately, safely, timely and completely.
  • Complete daily tasks in accordance with established workplace policies and procedures.
  • Consult with pharmacy management on unresolved issues surrounding day-to-day work functions.
  • Provide exceptional customer care to CareRx pharmacy patients and home partners.
  • Communicate with resident care team while following corporate policies for customer care and quality of pharmacy service.
  • Manage medication procedure/profile reviews with documentation of recommendations.
  • Follow all provincial and federal laws governing the practice of pharmacy.
  • Follow all corporate regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring pharmacy inventory.
  • Participate in training and support for new and existing pharmacy team members.

Under the general direction of the designated Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring that all prescriptions are dispensed accurately and safely while providing pharmaceutical patient care ensuring the highest level of therapeutic appropriateness for patients. What You Will Bring to The Team:
  • Currently licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia ( RPhT )
  • Proven ability to foster strong partnership with other members of the health care team.
  • Effective organization, planning, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of Kroll Windows application preferred.
  • Skilled in critical thought processes and ability to prioritize appropriately.
  • Self-directed, requiring minimal supervision and the ability to work independently.
  • Motivated to achieve results that reflect a high standard of quality.
  • Must demonstrate good listening skill and be adaptable to changes in job environment.
  • Previous Long Term pharmacy experience is an asset but not required .
  • Injections certification and APA certification preferred.

Compensation Range:

$60 - 65 per hour. Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience.

Location:

This role will be on site at our Parksville Pharmacy at 1176 Franklin's Gull Road and follows a five-day work week with required participation in the On-call Pharmacist evening and weekend rotations.
