Job summary

Addus is a charitable organization that enables people with developmental disabilities to actively participate in their community. The Relief Outcomes Facilitator role offers flexible, supportive environment and growth.

You work directly with participants in small group and one-to-one settings in Toronto. Responsibilities include helping participants reach goals, engage in social activities, and participate in arts and community life, while supporting staff to implement curricula with emphasis

Qualifications

• Flexible and self-motivated team player.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• 1-2 years' experience with individuals with developmental disabilities is an asset.
• Current Standard First Aid and CPR is an asset.
• CPI certification and arts experience are assets.

Responsibilities

• Support participants to develop goals, interests, and meaningful roles in the community.
• Facilitate participation in community life and encourage independence according to participants' interests.
• Assist staff in implementing curriculum in a community-based day program setting (arts, cooking, volunteering, etc.).
• Ensure a high standard of health and safety in the program environment and the community.
• Demonstrate respect for individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, friends, volunteers and community supports.
• Build professional relationships with program participants, families, staff, and community members.
