Job summary

The Salvation Army’s Lawson Ministries in Hamilton, ON is seeking a Relief Residential Counsellor to support adults with developmental disabilities in community homes and office settings.

This part-time, on-site role requires flexibility for days, evenings and weekends, with a paid meal break where applicable. You will collaborate with the team to implement person-centered plans, monitor safety, and maintain accurate daily logs using AIMS software.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of two academic years: Developmental Social Worker Diploma or equivalent in Human Services field.
• First Aid & CPR with Defibrillation training required or willingness to obtain upon hiring.
• Non Violent Physical Crisis Intervention (CPI) certification required or willingness to obtain upon hiring.
• Criminal Records Check with vulnerable sector screening required.
• Ontario Class G or G2 Driver’s license with a current Driver’s Abstract.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement individualized programs for adults with developmental disabilities.
• Maintain daily logs, shift reports, and incident reports in AIMS system.
