Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Relief Cleaner who embodies our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness, and empowerment. The Relief Cleaner ensures a high standard of cleanliness and neatness, performing general housekeeping activities in accordance with health and safety, infection control, and quality standards. Flexibility in availability is required.

This is a unionized relief position with a pay rate of $17.91 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and interact with clients and visitors, being approachable and available.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning checklists.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in all areas, ensuring health and safety standards are met.
• Operate cleaning equipment as required.
• Support staff in emergency situations.
• Collaborate with volunteers and team members.
• Participate in staff meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; additional training in janitorial, hygiene, or infection control is an asset.
• At least two years of experience in cleaning similar facilities.
• Sensitivity to working in a culturally diverse environment and with marginalized populations.
• First aid, CPR, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training.
• Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to travel between locations in Hamilton and Halton.
