Job summary

L'Arche Lethbridge is seeking an energetic, compassionate Relief Assistant to support Core Members in a community setting in Lethbridge, Alberta. This 3-month, full-time position runs Oct 1 to Dec 31 at 40 hours per week, with open availability including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities include assisting with daily life, maintaining household routines, and supporting the community's mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum of grade 12 or equivalent.
• Criminal records check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the following areas of the daily lives of Core Members as needed: personal appearance, personal hygiene, nutrition, budgeting, laundry, cooking, household cleaning, room management, decision making, crisis management, time management.
• Care for the household, including cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, and general maintenance according to the community standards.
• Learn relevant Community policies and implement them effectively.
• Facilitate communication with Core Members.
• Ensure Core Members wear appropriate clothing for age, style, and seasonality.
• Competently administer medication and assist with storage as directed by the House Leader.
• Support activities of the household by assisting with hosting gatherings and events.
• Accompany household members on outings.
