Job summary

LandSea Camp Services is seeking a Relief Camp Manager to oversee the daily operations of remote BC camps, ensuring smooth service delivery and top-notch guest experiences. You will supervise housekeeping, kitchen, catering, and maintenance teams, while maintaining safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires leadership, budgeting, reporting, and staff coaching. It is a temporary posting from October 16 to December 10, 2026, with on-site meals and accommodation provided and travel

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a related field; preferably a camp accommodation and catering environment.
  • 3 or more years' experience in a managerial role.
  • Completion of basic First Aid, basic and advanced Food Safe training, WHMIS, HACCP, Travel Restraint, Transport of Dangerous Goods, Accident Investigation, and Health and Safety Training.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily camp operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Oversee camp start-ups, shutdowns, maintenance, and facility management.
  • Monitor inventory, purchasing, receiving, and supply levels.
  • Ensure camp occupancy records and staffing levels are accurate.

About Working in Remote Camps

  • Our camps are located in remote areas and staff live on-site on scheduled shifts and leave camp on scheduled breaks.
  • Most of our LandSea camps offer individual staff accommodation, ensuite or shared bathroom, full meals, WIFI and some have health/gym facilities for staff.
  • Camp staff work long hours and multiple days in a row. A typical workday is between 10-12 hours (day or night shift) and overtime rates apply.
  • Health and Safety and a Respectful Workplace are essential for everyone working together at LandSea. Our camps are drug and alcohol-free workplaces and require pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.

The Relief Camp Manageris responsible for ensuring the overall organization, housekeeping and efficient operation of LandSea camp facilities.

About the Job, Benefits and Perks

  • Temporary postion: October 16 to December 10, 2026
  • Wages starting between $22.57 to $25.65 per hour

Camp Location

This camp is remote and located approximately 5 hours north of Terrace, BC. Our team organizes all logistics and travel for employees to get to and from camp.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage daily camp operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Oversee camp start-ups, shutdowns, maintenance, and facility management.
  • Monitor inventory, purchasing, receiving, and supply levels.
  • Ensure camp occupancy records and staffing levels are accurate.

Administration

  • Complete and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Manage timesheets, incident reports, performance reviews, and employee records
  • Track budgets, camp expenses, purchasing, and inventory controls
  • Maintain accurate operational and financial documentation
  • Supervise housekeeping, kitchen, catering, and maintenance teams
  • Train, coach, and support camp employees
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address workplace issues
  • Promote teamwork and a respectful workplace culture

Health & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and government regulations
  • Conduct safety meetings and maintain safety records
  • Investigate incidents and complete required documentation
  • Ensure food handling and sanitation standards are followed

Guest Services

  • Check inbound and outbound guest lists for room changeover. Report changes and cleaned items
  • Ensure accommodations, laundry facilities, and common areas meet company standards
  • Respond to client and guest concerns promptly
  • Deliver high-quality customer service in a remote camp environment

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in a related field of work; preferably a camp accomodation and catering environment
  • 3 or more years' experience in a managerial role
  • Completion of basic First Aid, basic and advanced Food Safe training, WHMIS, HCCAP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points), Travel Restraint, Transport of Dangerous Goods, Accident Investigation, and Health and Safety Training
  • Knowledge of Camp Manager Database programs and retail Point of Sale systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong decision making and delegation skills
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Superior organization and time management skills
  • Team player and can provide support, motivation and encouragement to others
  • Ability of administer and receive constructive feedback from both clients and LandSea employees
