Job summary

Alcoa, a global aluminum leader, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and availability. You will design strategies for critical assets, coordinate maintenance teams, and drive improvements with production and external experts to reduce downtime.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering, 3–5 years in industry, OIQ membership, and strong analytical and leadership abilities, with functional English.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • 3–5 years of relevant industrial/manufacturing experience.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and continuous improvement skills to support equipment reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement optimal maintenance strategies based on equipment criticality, spares and maintenance activities.
  • Optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs using reliability-centered principles.
  • Deploy and sustain reliability processes, including equipment health monitoring and structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Perform audits of critical equipment, develop action plans and monitor results to improve asset performance.
  • Analyze maintenance and production data to identify trends, gaps and root causes of failures, and propose durable solutions.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance and external experts to support continuous improvement initiatives and new maintenance technologies.
