Job summary

SMS Equipment Inc. in Fort McMurray is seeking a Reliability Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to provide technical support focused on equipment reliability, availability, and maintenance optimization.

You will analyze failures, support maintenance strategies, and develop technical reports to improve performance. The role requires an Engineering degree with EIT eligibility, strong analytical skills, and the ability to interpret drawings.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree, eligible for or pursuing EIT designation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze oil sample results and communicate concerns as required.
• Act as a technical resource for customers and support maintenance strategy development.

Description

SMS Equipment is looking for a Reliability Engineer-In-Training (EIT) to provide technical support focused on equipment reliability, availability, and maintenance optimization. This role works closely with customers, OEMs, and internal stakeholders to analyze product failures, support maintenance strategies, develop technical reports, and improve equipment performance.

Work Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta.
Salary: $100,000 to $110,000 per annum.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
Schedule: Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do:

• Support reliability initiatives with customers, OEMs, and internal teams.

What You Bring:

The successful candidate has an Engineering degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering, and is eligible for or pursuing Engineer-In-Training (EIT) designation. You bring an understanding of equipment reliability principles and the ability to interpret equipment designs, engineering drawings, specifications, and standards.

Other requirements include:

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively assess risk.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Strong planning and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Reliability-related experience is considered an asset.
