Job Description
Release Manager
The Release Manager plans the release of project deliverables and manages the release lifecycle.
- Communicates release plans to clients
- Coordinates release schedules and resources, considering third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates
- Identifies and manages risks that could delay releases, ensuring scope, schedule, and quality are maintained
- Tracks progress, identifies issues, and seeks process improvements
- Ensures releases are planned according to requirements and budget
- Schedules release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews afterward
- Creates release plans and deployment schedules based on implementation timelines
- Provides scheduled updates on release activities
- Ensures DevOps resources are available and assigned to each release
- Communicates with implementation managers across initiatives
- Leads Go-Live activities for successful deployment
- Participates in CAB meetings to discuss schedules, scope, and address roadblocks
- Maintains documentation related to build, release procedures, notifications, and dependencies
- Implements improvements in release management methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Strong knowledge and experience in healthcare/medical sector
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Experience working with DevOps and Agile methodologies
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle
- Strong team and time management skills
- Experience with Application Release Automation tools
- Knowledge of traditional Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban
- Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating systems
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
