Reporting to the Senior Relationship Manager ("SRM"), the Relationship Manager ("RM") supports existing and potential clients of the First Nations Financial Management Board ("FMB"). The RM collaborates across all FMB business lines to foster a high-performing, engaged relationship-building team.
Accountabilities
- Outreach / Engagement with prospective clients
- Identify prospective clients within a region and develop engagement strategies with the SRM;
- Monitor regional economic landscapes for opportunities;
- Implement marketing strategies to promote FMB services and certification processes;
- Build and maintain relationships with potential clients;
- Manage outreach initiatives and engagement strategies;
- Deliver presentations and workshops to First Nations;
- Support First Nations in developing their FAL or FAB;
- Liaise with legal counsel to ensure compliance with FAL Standards;
- Lead client management from initial engagement to FAL/FAB compliance approval;
- Serve as the point of contact for inquiries related to FAL Standards and law compliance;
- Support various client segments, including those on FMA schedule, not on FMA, under Indian Act, and seeking grants.
Relationship Management
- Report on metrics aligning with IELR and FMB goals;
- Ensure quality assurance of all legal and material documentation.
Supporting the Journey to FP & FMS Certification
- Maintain engagement with Chief & Council;
- Provide presentations to reinforce capacity development benefits;
- Assist First Nations with FAL re-engagement workplans;
- Support evaluation of benefits of FP Certification;
- Manage client segments, including those on FMA and under Indian Act.
Supporting clients' journey to 10-Year Grant
- Guide clients through eligibility requirements for the 10-Year Grant.
Supporting clients in the DMPPP
- Support clients in the Default Management Prevention Pilot Program as they move towards enacting FAL and certifications.
Stakeholder Relations & Engagement
- Develop and implement regional stakeholder relationship strategies;
- Attend conferences and events to promote FMB;
- Establish partnerships with Indigenous organizations and agencies.
The RM performs other related duties as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field;
- Minimum 5 years' experience in business development, ideally with First Nations;
- Experience working with First Nations;
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software;
- Strong communication skills in English; French is an asset;
- Ability to conduct virtual and in-person presentations;
- Relevant education or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Work Conditions
- Based in Montreal, QC, with remote work considered;
- Extensive regional and occasional national travel;
- Occasional evening and weekend work.
