What You’ll Do:

The Broker Relationship Manager is responsible for assisting in identifying solutions that will support the company’s goals of long-term profitable growth. The individual accomplishes this by establishing and developing the company’s relationships with their Insurance Brokers and maintaining a liaison between the Brokers and Underwriting Departments. The Broker Relationship Manager also develops both product awareness and underwriting philosophy with the brokerage force.

The individual collaborates with team members, supports Branch objectives and displays behaviours in a manner consistent with company values. The Broker Relationship Manager strives to provide an outstanding workplace culture that maximizes employee engagement and supports employee development.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and strengthens existing broker relationships within their region.
  • Seeks opportunities to strategically expand the companies broker network within their region.
  • Evaluate potential brokers within their respective territory for alignment with long-term profit objectives.
  • Integrate respective broker feedback into proposals and present supported recommendations.
  • Develops both product awareness and underwriting philosophy within the brokerage force (i.e. having the ability to quote business when on broker visits).
  • Consistently communicates with customers, industry associates and co-workers in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
  • Serve as a prominent representative of the company at industry events.
  • Supports collaborations between offices, teams and Broker Relationship representatives for regional and national broker service.
  • Supports the development of training tools, guides and other resources for broker partners.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must reside in Canada and be authorized to work in Canada.
  • Extensive knowledge of company products, broker operations, underwriter functions, coverage requirements and risk assessment.
  • Proven relationship-building experience at a management level.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross functional teams.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring and inspiring teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Adaptable and continuous improvement mind-set is required.
  • Proven negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel to visit brokers is required.
  • Attend industry functions as required.
  • Post-secondary education in Marketing or relevant insurance experience is required.
  • Business and finance experience are considered strong assets.

The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $51,000 - $95,000
