Job summary

Come work as a Rehabilitation Assistant with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as part of the Rehabilitation Services team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver!

Within the context of a patient/client/resident and family centred care model, this position operates under supervision and works with the OT/PT team to carry out rehabilitative activities, provide direction to volunteers, and ensure equipment and supplies are organized and available for daily living activities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Receive assignments and implement lower-risk OT/PT interventions.
• Demonstrate and teach activities to patients and families.
• Adapt devices to maximize independence for patients/clients/residents.
• Organize and clean equipment and maintain supplies.
• Report progress and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team.
