Job summary

Fraser Health is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to work under the direction of healthcare professionals within a multidisciplinary team. You will implement treatment plans, support mobility, daily living activities, and assist with equipment and assistive devices, contributing to patient progress and documentation.

The role involves collaboration with PTs, OTs and nurses to assess needs, modify plans, and ensure safe, person-centered care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work and operate related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carries out designated components of a rehabilitative treatment plan under an assignment of task by PT or OT.
• Carries out components of the treatment plan related to mobility under nursing direction.
• Observes and reports cognitive and functional changes to the team and documents progress.
• Contributes to planning, implementing, modification and evaluation of the treatment plan.
• Performs tests such as Berg Balance, TUG, and six-minute walk; records data for interpretation.
