Job summary

Shared Health is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant for the Selkirk Mental Health Centre. The RA will work under physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists to provide direct and indirect patient care in a team-based setting.

Responsibilities include patient care, clerical tasks, and adherence to safety and confidentiality policies. Applicants need RA/OTA/PTA training or equivalent, and CPR as required by policy.

Qualifications

• Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
• Successful completion of a recognized academic Rehabilitation Assistant (RA) program with a practicum component, or an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA)/Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) program.
• Graduates of International Physiotherapy (PT) or Occupational Therapy (OT) programs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect patient/resident/client care activities as directed by the supervisor.
• Carry out administrative, clerical, light housekeeping tasks, and other duties as assigned.
