Job summary

Humber River Health is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Allied Health Services Team. This permanent full-time position offers rotating shifts at the Wilson Site with an hourly rate of $29.77 to $35.15.

The role supports Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in an acute hospital setting, providing patient-centered care, charting, and equipment Maintenance. Experience in acute care is preferred, with a focus on teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

  • Fluent English and strong communication within interprofessional teams.
  • Able to read, write, and follow directions accurately.
  • Comfortable with physical tasks including bending, lifting and assisting patients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for treatment and support Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in delivering care.
  • Provide client-centered clinical care under supervision of PT/OT.
  • Deliver goal-oriented treatment interventions and patient education.
  • Assist with patient lifting, transferring and transporting.
  • Maintain timely charting and workload measurement.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment and report issues.
  • Support students (OTA/PTA) under supervision.
  • Deliver cross-coverage services across Hennick and RCC sites as needed.
