Job summary

Humber River Health is seeking a Unit Aide to join our Emergency Department at the Wilson site. This part-time role offers rotating shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays, with an hourly rate listed as $27.758 - $28.306.

The successful candidate will carry out Unit Aide duties, maintain and order supplies, and support a fast-paced department focused on safe, efficient patient care. Prior hospital experience and a basic understanding of medical terminology are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school graduation or equivalent.
  • CSAO or Sterile Supply Processing certificate preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial.
  • Hospital experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Good command of the English Language, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physically able to push stretchers, lift and store linen and surgical supplies, clean stretchers.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
  • An understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles as they relate to health practices is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Unit Aide duties in Emergency Department.
  • Maintaining and ordering of supplies in the rooms and department.
  • Stocks rooms with required supplies and linen.
  • Cleans equipment and ensures equipment is functional.
  • Ensures that sufficient supplies are on hand for patient care until the next ordering shift.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
