Job description

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The continuous improvement of quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Under the direction of a licensed therapist such as a Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, and/or Speech Language Pathologist, the Rehabilitation Assistant implements rehabilitation treatment plans and programs, and assists the therapist in monitoring and evaluating patients'/residents' progress.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training, and Experience

Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with others.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
