Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient & staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reports to the Manager or designate. Under the general direction of the treating Staff Therapist, carries out individual and group therapeutic, recreational, and physical activities to improve and maintain the functional abilities of patients and residents. Performs related functions such as providing direction to volunteers during activity programs, transporting patients and residents to and from treatment or activity areas, and reporting observations on progress to the Therapist.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
Completion of a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
