Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Physiotherapy Aide to support rehabilitation programs for residents in long-term care. The role involves assisting therapists, helping residents participate in therapy, and maintaining equipment and records under therapist direction.

Ideal candidates will have a Rehabilitation Therapist Diploma, post-secondary education as an asset, and strong English communication skills to interact with a diverse population and care teams.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education is an asset.
• Must be fluent in English, both orally and in writing.
• Completion of a Rehabilitation Therapist Diploma.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse population

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance for Healthcare Professionals (PT / OT).
• Monitors resident ability to participate in therapy intervention.
• Prepares and maintains inventory of equipment and supplies and assists with maintenance programs (individual or group) as directed by the Therapist.
• Provides repairs or modifications to resident equipment as needed.
• Maintains infection control practice of treatment area and equipment.
• Provides and distributes equipment as needed.
• Participates in information sharing and communication.
• Collects records and manages data in computer program.
