Job summary

McClean Lake Operation in Canada seeks a Regulatory Affairs professional to maintain and improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) in alignment with ISO 14001/45001 and applicable regulatory commitments, and to lead process audits.

You will manage regulatory documentation, coordinate submissions and inspections, train staff, and liaise with regulators and stakeholders to ensure compliance at the site.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a regulatory environment with provincial/federal legislation.
  • Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity of the uranium industry or regulatory/licensing processes is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) according to ISO 14001/45001 and regulatory commitments
  • Prepare audit plans and conduct process audits
  • Support non-conformance investigations and incident notifications
  • Manage regulatory inbox and document control
  • Deliver IMS/ISO/regulatory training for supervisors
  • Track actions from non-conformances
  • Track regulatory commitments and obligations
  • Collaborate with departments on regulatory requirements and management systems
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and stakeholders
  • Coordinate input from technical specialists for regulatory submissions
  • Draft regulatory responses and submissions
  • Stay current with regulatory changes affecting McClean Lake Operation
  • Train, mentor, supervise Management Systems Technicians and Analysts
  • Monitor site activity compliance with licenses/permits/requirements
  • Coordinate inspections and audits
  • Coordinate development, review and editing of McClean Lake reports and manuals

Job description

What youll accomplish:
  • Ensure that the Integrated Management System (IMS) is maintained and improved in accordance with Orano requirements, regulatory commitments, and the ISO 14001/45001 standards
  • Prepare audit plans and perform process-related audits
  • Supports the non-conformance investigation and follow-up process including incident notifications
  • Manages the regulatory inbox and library and coordinates site document control
  • Conducts IMS/ISO/regulatory training for supervisors
  • Track actions arising from non-conformances
  • Track regulatory commitments and obligations
  • Collaborate with departments on regulatory requirements and management systems matters
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies and stakeholders
  • Coordinate the contributions of technical specialists in the review of regulatory submissions including applications and notifications
  • Draft regulatory responses and submissions
  • Stay current with changes in the regulatory environment as they relate to the McClean Lake Operation
  • Train, mentor, and supervise Management Systems Technicians and Analysts
  • Monitor site activity compliance with licenses/approvals/permits/requirements
  • Coordinate and participate in inspections and audits
  • Coordinate the development, review and editing of McClean Lake reports and manuals
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant education and experience within the legal, political science, environmental, or engineering fields will be considered
  • 5+ years of experience in a regulatory environment dealing with provincial and/or federal legislation
  • Excellent computer skills, including the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity of the uranium industry or regulatory/licensing processes is a strong asset
Work Location & Schedule:
  • McClean Lake
  • 14 day in/ 14 day out rotating schedule
  • Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours is occasionally required
