The Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide timely regulatory advice and support Alberta’s evolving electricity sector from its Calgary office. Reporting to the Legal Manager, Operations and Reliability, you will advise on complex legal and regulatory issues and contribute to industry initiatives shaping Alberta's electricity system.

You will draft AESO documents (ISO rules, Alberta Reliability Standards) and assist with stakeholder consultations and AESO

Qualifikationen

• Qualified lawyer with provincial bar admission in Alberta.
• Experience with regulatory proceedings, tariffs, or Alberta electricity industry is a plus.
• Ability to analyze complex regulatory issues and provide practical advice.

Aufgaben

• Provide legal services to AESO business departments, focusing on regulatory matters.
• Draft and review ISO rules and Alberta Reliability Standards documentation.
• Support stakeholder engagement and regulatory processes.
• Assist AESO in AUC proceedings and related regulatory work.
• Research and provide written and verbal legal opinions as needed.
• Collaborate on stakeholder consultation processes and external counsel management.
