111000 Extendicare (Canada) Inc. is seeking a part-time Certified Activity Aide to plan, implement and evaluate activation programs for residents.

The role supports individual and group activities, transports residents as needed, and collaborates with nursing staff to monitor resident well-being. The position requires a completed Activation/Gerontology Diploma or Degree, strong communication and documentation skills, and the ability to work independently in a geriatric setting.

Qualifications

  • Proof of successful completion of an approved Activation/Gerontology Diploma or Degree program required ONLY.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent documentation skills.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one-one/group program planning, implementation and evaluation for both well and the cognitively impaired.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in care planning and resident assessments.
  • Ability to work independently and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to plan, implement, evaluate new ideas, resident programs and volunteer initiatives.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in working with the geriatric population especially those with cognitive impairments.
