Job summary

TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our bovine health team across Southern Alberta. You will work with veterinarians and producers to implement on-farm health programs, lead herd health initiatives, and build strong producer relationships.

Ideal candidates have RVT licensure in Alberta, a passion for bovine medicine, and excellent communication skills. A driver’s license and ability to travel on-farm are required.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma from an accreditedAnimal Health Technology program.
  • RVT licensure with Alberta Veterinary Medical Association.
  • Strong communication and proactive problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work with clients on farms for data recording and technical duties.
  • In-clinic duties including reporting, prescription management, and reception.
  • Rotate to dispense medications and veterinary products; manage inventory.
  • Provide Cow-Calf, Dairy, and Feedlot RVT services.
  • Lead field service initiatives and drive producer education.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic technology in bovine medicine.
  • Shape preventative herd health programs and producer relationships.
  • Build lasting relationships with producers and communities.

Our team and what we'll accomplish together

We are seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for our bovine practice, who will join a team made up of bovine practitioners and nutritionists across our multiple locations. You will help transform bovine healthcare as our lead field services RVT. Working across Southern Alberta (Lethbridge/Taber/Brooks), you'll conduct on-farm health programs, lead herd health initiatives, and build strong producer relationships. This role offers increasing autonomy and the opportunity to shape modern cattle health practices.


What you'll do:

As a RVT, you will play an essential role in assisting veterinarians in all aspects of bovine medicine, including feedlot, cow-calf, and dairy productions. Your technical expertise and dedication to animal care will be crucial to the success of our veterinary services and the health of our clients’ herds. Our RVTs are a highly valued and integral part of our team. They play a critical role in taking on a variety of essential responsibilities that directly contribute to the quality of care we provide to our patients and the smooth operation of our facility.



  • Work with clients on farms for data recording, processing, and various technical duties.

  • In-clinic duties which include reporting, prescription management, and reception

  • Work on a rotating schedule to dispense medications, medical supplies, and veterinary products in the warehouse facility, ensuring accurate inventory management and timely fulfillment of orders

What you bring:


  • Education: Degree or Diploma from an accredited Animal Health Technology college program

  • RVT licensure with the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association.

  • Passion for bovine medicine

  • Clean and valid full Class 5 Driver's License or other provincial equivalents, a driver’s abstract will be needed
