Arnprior Animal Hospital, located 30 minutes west of Ottawa in Arnprior, is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our expanding practice. Our hospital offers a supportive and friendly work environment with experienced staff in a spacious, well-equipped hospital.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Client and Team Communication: Communicate compassionately and professionally with clients and team members using effective oral and written skills.
2. Diagnostic Testing: Administer and analyze tests such as hematology, clinical chemistry, cytology, and urinalysis with appropriate equipment and techniques.
3. Surgical Assistance: Assist veterinarians with surgical and therapeutic procedures, ensuring aseptic standards are maintained.
4. Anesthesia and Analgesia: Administer and monitor anesthesia and pain management within the scope of practice and legal regulations.
5. Veterinary Nursing Care: Provide ethical and professional nursing care, incorporating Fear Free techniques and adhering to provincial laws.
6. Medical Records: Maintain accurate and detailed veterinary records following regulated procedures.
7. Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain veterinary equipment safely and according to standards.
8. Diagnostic Imaging: Execute and evaluate diagnostic images with knowledge of theory and principles.
9. Dental Procedures: Perform dental care in line with industry standards, understanding dental anatomy and disease stages.
10. Multitasking: Manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
11. Inventory Management: Maintain appropriate stock levels of medical supplies.
12. Team Support: Support a collaborative work environment and assist colleagues as needed.

Education

• Diploma in Veterinary Technology or Technologist program.
