Job summary

Kingston Regional Pet Hospital is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our after-hours emergency team in Kingston, ON. You will assist veterinarians with medical, surgical and dental procedures, prepare patients and instruments, administer medications, and provide exceptional client service in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates have VTNE passed or eligible, a Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technology Diploma, and are in good standing with the provincial association.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing with the provincial association.
• VTNE passed or eligible to write VTNE.
• 2–3 year accredited Canadian Veterinary/Animal Health Technology Diploma program completed.
• Excellent client communication and customer service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking team.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures.
• Prepare patients, instruments and equipment for surgery.
• Administer and monitor medicines under veterinarian guidance.

We are an after-hours emergency hospital located in Kingston, ON. We are a mentoring team of DVMs and RVT's who encourage everyone to step outside of their comfort zone and learn new skills. We are a fast paced environment dealing with emergencies in small animals. Our team is supportive, easy going and enjoys light hearted times during the stressful ones. Our ideal team member would be eager to learn, enjoy a fast pace of work while being able to multi-task and be superior in client communication skills.

Our ideal Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) builds positive client relationships by displaying genuine care and compassion towards clients and their pets, being respectful in all interactions and providing exceptional customer service. The RVT also assists the Veterinarian with medical, surgical and dental procedures, by using a range of diagnostic equipment, preparing patients, instruments and equipment for surgery; and administering and monitoring medicines under the direction of a Veterinarian.

Our ideal Registered Veterinary Technician(RVT) must have passed the VTNE or be eligible to write the VTNE, be in good standing with the provincial regulatory association and successfully completed a 2 or 3-year accredited Canadian Veterinary or Animal Health Technology Diploma Program.
