Job summary

Scarborough Health Network is seeking a Registered Technologist (MRT) to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a multidisciplinary setting. This role involves performing General Radiography, maintaining records and equipment, and being prepared to undertake CAMRT CT certification.

The successful candidate should have radiology registration in Ontario, CPR, strong communication, and teamwork skills, with a willingness to learn CT and work across SHN’s three hospital locations.

Qualifications

  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario – Radiology.
  • CT head and renal colic scanning experience preferred.
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide patient-focused, service-excellence care.
  • Initiative and teamwork in an interdisciplinary setting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and exercise critical decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to customer service with patients, colleagues, volunteers and the community.
  • Adherence to SHN’s Code of Conduct and commitment to a healthy, positive work environment per Health & Safety policy.
  • Commitment to SHN’s safety programs: staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety; participation in regular in-service education.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the successful candidate will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary, family‑centered environment. The Registered Technologist (MRT) will perform the full range of General Radiography tests and procedures, maintain patient information registry and reports, and maintain equipment. The candidate will be expected to be willing to receive full‑line CT training and successfully complete CAMRT CT certification. The successful candidate will work at all three hospital locations.
