Qualifications

  • Registration as a Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists is required.
  • Doctoral or Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology is required.
  • Experience providing psychological counseling or assessment for ADHD is preferred.

About the Role

The Registered Psychologist will provide psychological assessment, counseling, and treatment for individuals experiencing ADHD and related concerns such as anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, executive functioning difficulties, and life transitions.

Psychologists assess and diagnose cognitive, emotional, and behavioural concerns and provide therapy to help individuals improve functioning and well-being.

This role involves working with children, teens, adults, and families within a collaborative clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Services

Provide individual psychological counseling for ADHD and related concerns

Conduct comprehensive ADHD and psychological assessments

Develop personalized treatment plans

Deliver evidence-based therapies such as:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Executive functioning interventions

Emotional regulation strategies

Provide feedback sessions and clinical reports

Psychologists commonly assess behavioural, emotional, and cognitive disorders and provide treatment through therapy and counseling.

Assessment and Diagnosis

Conduct clinical interviews and diagnostic evaluations

Administer and interpret standardized psychological tests

Provide recommendations for treatment, accommodations, and supports

ADHD assessment often requires gathering information from multiple sources and using standardized measures to evaluate attention, behaviour, and cognitive functioning.

Work collaboratively with:

Occupational therapists

ADHD coaches

Speech-language pathologists

Participate in case consultations

Contribute to integrated care plans

Professional Practice

Maintain accurate clinical documentation

Follow professional and ethical guidelines

Stay current with evidence-based ADHD treatment approaches

Contribute to workshops, groups, or program development when appropriate

Qualifications
Required

Registration as a Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists

Doctoral or Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology or Counseling Psychology

Experience providing psychological counseling or assessment

Strong communication and clinical documentation skills

Preferred
  • Experience with ADHD assessment and treatment
  • Experience working with children, teens, or adults with executive functioning challenges
  • Interest in multidisciplinary collaboration
  • Experience with group programs or workshops
