Job summary

Sienna Living is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for an unscheduled part-time position at Woods Park Community and Retirement in Barrie, Ontario. Reporting to the Director of Care, you will provide nursing care per policy, manage the resident plan of care, and supervise staff to ensure dignity and comfort for residents.

Qualifications

• Ontario-registered RPN in good standing.
• Experience in geriatrics or senior health is an asset.
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, physician orders and resident plan of care within RPN scope.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound nursing practice.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and effective communication with staff.
• Oversee resident care, including communication with residents and families, and guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/unregulated staff on the unit.
• Admission, readmission, status changes and ongoing assessments.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be a welcomed member of the Sienna Senior Living team and impact in the following ways:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
