Our client is seeking dedicated Registered Practical Nurses to join their team at their care home. As an RPN, you will provide professional nursing care to residents, working collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of life for seniors in an environment committed to excellence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Medication Management

• Administer medications safely and accurately according to physician orders
• Perform treatments including wound care, dressing changes, and catheter care
• Monitor and document vital signs, blood glucose levels, and other health indicators
• Assist with admission assessments and care plan development
• Manage medication carts and narcotic counts

Health Assessment & Monitoring

• Conduct ongoing resident assessments and identify changes in condition
• Collaborate with RNs and physicians to update care plans
• Document all nursing interventions and resident responses
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in care conferences and family meetings

Leadership & Supervision

• Provide guidance and supervision to Personal Support Workers
• Delegate appropriate tasks while ensuring quality care delivery
• Mentor new staff and students during orientation periods
• Act as charge nurse during assigned shifts
• Ensure compliance with nursing standards and facility policies

Emergency Response & Specialized Care

• Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions
• Perform CPR and first aid as required
• Manage complex care needs including tube feedings, oxygen therapy, and specialized equipment
• Support palliative and end-of-life care with compassion

Required Qualifications

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RPN
• Valid CPR certification (HCP level)
• Minimum one year of nursing experience (new graduates considered)
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
• Proficiency with electronic documentation systems
• Clear criminal reference check and vulnerable sector screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing
• Additional certifications in wound care, dementia care, or palliative care
• Experience with medication administration systems
• Leadership or charge nurse experience
• Second language skills an asset
