Job Summary:
The Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre seeks a licensed RPN responsible for assessing, planning, and providing interventions according to the Standards of Practice (RPN College of Nurses of Ontario), aligned with hospital goals for assigned patients.
Qualifications:
• Current registration as a licensed Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic CPR certification.
• Current pharmacology certification.
• Preferred: 6 months to 1 year of experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with staff and residents.
Job Duties:
• Provide nursing interventions within the RPN scope of practice.
• Be available to work all shifts and sites as assigned.
• Willingness to work the current 12-hour shift rotation.
• Prioritize and organize tasks effectively.
• Use a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Be flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Knowledge of First Nation culture and ability to speak Oji-Cree is an asset.
• Adapt quickly to changing environments.
• Maintain concentration amidst interruptions.
• Handle stressful and unpredictable situations.
• Manage hazardous situations involving chemicals, infectious diseases, and challenging patients.
• Self-reflect and adjust practices based on feedback.
• Provide culturally competent, respectful care.
