Job summary

The Royal is offering a dedicated program serving adults aged 18-64 with complex schizophrenia-related conditions, focusing on recovery, safety, and successful community reintegration.

Referrals come from healthcare providers, and RPNs work as part of an inter-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a recognized Diploma Program in Practical Nursing.
  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of CNO standards regarding RPN scope of practice.
  • Understanding of MHA and relevant legislation.
  • CPR/AED certification within the last 2 years.
  • Completion of Prevention of Violence in the Workplace training (C.P.I.) required.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Technical skills including glucometer reading, vital signs, injections, medication administration, O2, wound care, suctioning, safe patient handling, catheterization, ECT recovery, skin care and feeding.
  • Ability to develop therapeutic relations with patients and function within an inter-disciplinary team.
  • Basic computer skills; English level A- is mandatory; bilingual (English/French) an asset.

Job description

About the Program

This program serves adults aged 18-64 with complex schizophrenia-related conditions requiring intensive support. The focus is on recovery, helping clients reintegrate into the community safely and independently. Referrals from healthcare providers are required.

Qualifications
