Job summary

Bruyère Health, Eastern Ontario’s leading health organization, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for Rehab to join our interdisciplinary team. You will provide patient-centered nursing care and collaborate with the Clinical Manager to ensure safe and ethical practice.

The role emphasizes communication, teamwork, and adherence to standards, with a focus on rehabilitation patients and support for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent.
• Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Level C certificate.
• Successful completion of the mandatory FIM certification within the established timeline.
• Fluent in French and English.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, patient-centered nursing care to patients according to scope of practice and Bruyère Health policies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, loved ones, colleagues and other health discipline members.
• Work under direction of the Clinical Manager within an interdisciplinary team.

What would my role be?

Reporting to Clinical Manager, as a member of the interdisciplinary team you will deliver safe, effective, patient-centered, ethical and evidence-based nursing care to patients according to scope of practice and in accordance with Bruyère Health policies, procedures and standards and with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards. You will communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with patients and their loved ones, colleagues and other health discipline members.

For information purpose only, please note that the position is currently aligned with Rehabilitation - E6R, subject to change.

Required :

• Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent
• Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
• Successful completion of the mandatory FIM (Functional Independence Measure) certification provided by the hospital within the established timeline
• Fluent in French and English (Candidates who do not meet this language requirement are eligible to apply for this position and may be considered if there are no other suitable applicants who meet this requirement).

Preferred :

• Rehabilitation Nursing Education / Certification
• Experience in rehabilitation
• Membership in Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO)
