Job summary

Bruyère Health in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to deliver safe, patient-centered care within the palliative care program. You will work under the Clinical Manager as part of an interdisciplinary team, ensuring ethical and evidence-based nursing practice.

This temporary, part-time role (0.4 FT) requires CNO registration, BLS CPR Level C, and completion of an RPN medication administration course.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent.
  • Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR Level C certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, patient-centered nursing care within the palliative care program.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Follow Bruyère Health policies and standards while providing nursing duties.

What would my role be?

Reporting to Clinical Manager, as a member of the interdisciplinary team you will deliver safe, effective, patient-centered, ethical and evidence-based nursing care to patients according to scope of practice and in accordance with Bruyère Health policies, procedures and standards and with the College of Nurses of Ontario standards. You will communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with patients and their loved ones, colleagues and other health discipline members.

How do I qualify?
Required
  • Successful completion of RPN medication administration course or equivalent
  • Valid certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Level C certificate
Preferred
  • Experience in Palliative Care or Oncology
  • Membership in Registered Practical Nurses' Association of Ontario (RPNAO)
  • Fluent in French and English
