Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences seeks a Part‑Time Care Coordinator (RPN) at Belle River Retirement Residence. This supervisory role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care, mentoring the care team, and guiding transitions for residents into the community in alignment with RHRA standards.

The position requires an active RPN license, experience with seniors, strong communication and leadership, and the ability to respond to emergencies. PCC knowledge and First Aid/CPR are assets.

Qualifications

  • RPN license in good standing with the CNO
  • Experience working with seniors in retirement or long-term care is preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Willingness to respond to emergencies and provide mentorship
  • First Aid and CPR certification is required

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to residents using the nursing process
  • Supervise care team and mentor staff on an ongoing basis
  • Assess residents moving into the community and conduct six-month reassessments
  • Establish resident-centered care plans and ensure policy compliance
  • Support risk management through monthly audits and oversee medication administration as needed

Job description

Belle River Retirement Residence, Part Time, Temporary, (3:00PM-11:00PM) Week 1: Tuesday, Sunday. Week 2: Sunday-Wednesday.
The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Care Coordinator (RPN) to act as a supervisor providing the highest standard of care services. This role will assist in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, their families’ and other staff members while mentoring and providing direction and education to our Resident Guest Attendants for care and other team members’.

What You’ll Do
  • Effectively utilizing the nursing process to provide high-quality nursing care to residents
  • Supervisory duties including ensuring excellent care services to Seasons’ residents and providing mentoring/education/guidance to care team on an ongoing basis
  • Assessments of residents moving into Seasons community and following up with residents throughout the transition to community (6-month re-assessments of residents per RHRA regulations, as health care changes)
  • Establish priorities based on individual resident needs
  • Providing person centered service plans
  • Ensuring compliance with Resident Assessments/Service Plans (PCC) while following community specific policies, procedures, and all applicable regulations
  • Risk management by adhering to thorough monthly care related audits
  • Medication administration (PCC knowledge an asset)
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience working with seniors in a retirement or long-term care facility environment is considered an asset
  • Current Registered Practical Nurse License and is in good standing with the CNO
  • Point-Click-Care (PCC) knowledge is considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be prepared to respond to emergency situations
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills in relation to both residents and care staff
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
