Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Care Attendant at Belle River Retirement Residence. The role focuses on compassionate, person-centered care, medication administration, and supporting residents' safety and wellbeing during evening shifts (3:00PM-11:00PM).

You will collaborate with the Health and Wellness Manager and care team to ensure high-quality care. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living tasks, housekeeping, and adhering to infection control measures.

Qualifications

  • Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents.
  • Assist with safety and wellbeing of residents and families.
  • Support infection control measures per facility policies.
  • Assist with housekeeping and laundry tasks as assigned.
  • Respond to medical/physical/emotional needs with health staff collaboration.

  • Administer medications safely (training provided).
  • Follow infection control procedures to protect residents and staff.
  • Assist with housekeeping and resident laundry duties.
  • Coordinate with Health and Wellness Manager to address needs.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Care Attendant. This role will make a difference every day in the lives of our residents by providing exceptional care, memorable moments by nurturing relationships with our residents and providing safety and wellbeing of our residents and their families’ and other staff.

Belle River Retirement Residence, Week 1: Tuesday-Thursday, Saturday. Week 2: Sunday, Tuesday-Friday. (3:00PM-11:00PM)

What You’ll Do
  • Provide person-centered care services to residents ensuring professionalism, dignity and compassion with each interaction of Seasons’ residents
  • Safe medication administration (training provided by Seasons)
  • As part of the care team, follow infection control measures (per Company's policies/procedures) to enhance the safety and wellbeing of residents and staff
  • Provide assistance with housekeeping tasks and laundry of residents as assigned
  • Respond to medical/physical/emotional needs with collaboration from Health and Wellness Manager
What You’ll Bring
  • Registered with and in good standing with the College of License Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA) – (Alberta Candidates only)
  • Knowledge of medical equipment is considered an asset (blood pressure machine, oximeter, glucometer- and/or the ability to learn these skills with training)
  • Provide compassion, empathy and understanding of Seasons’ residents
  • Communicate effectively following written and verbal instructions
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize workload throughout scheduled shift
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
