Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, ON seeks an experienced Registered Practical Nurse for primary care of Operating Room patients. You will assess, intervene, educate and advocate, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to uphold patient-focused care.

The role requires current Ontario nursing registration, a BCLS certificate, and a post-graduate OR certificate, plus OR experience and aseptic technique knowledge.

Qualifications

• Current Ontario registration with College of Nurses.
• Current BCLS certificate.
• Post-graduate OR certificate completed.
• Current or recent OR experience.
• Physical assessment course required.
• Working knowledge of Aseptic Technique.
• Ability to make decisions under stress.

Job description

Summary Of Duties

Responsible for primary care of Operating Room patients. The main functions of the RPN include, but are not limited to: assessment, intervention, education and patient advocacy. The RPN supports the Philosophy of Patient-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RPN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications/Skills
