Job summary

University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join the 3D - FSTH team at West Park Healthcare Centre. This permanent part-time role is 0.6 FTE, with day and night shifts, reporting to the Manager, Program Services.

Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care within an interdisciplinary team, plan and evaluate care, mentor students and new staff, and participate in hospital initiatives while upholding patient safety and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Diploma in Practical Nursing
• Neuroscience Nursing Certification an asset
• Experience working with Frail Seniors and Geriatric population
• Effective problem recognition, problem solving and decision making skills
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
• Demonstrated commitment to team success
• Resilience and effective coping strategies to manage change
• Demonstrated computer literacy in word processing and Electronic Patient Record/HIS systems
• Working knowledge of the College of Nurses of Ontario standards of practice
• Evidence of satisfactory attendance and punctuality

Position Summary

As a member of a multi-disciplinary Team, the Registered Practical Nurse practices in accordance with relevant legislation/standards, the UHN Professional Practice Model and the mission and vision of nursing at the UHN to provide compassionate, collaborative and competent care, while meeting the legal and ethical requirements of the profession.
