Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Ontario is seeking Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) to deliver planned, patient-centered nursing care in a supportive team environment for our retirement residences.

You will assess, implement and evaluate care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, document clinical assessments, and mentor unregulated care providers while maintaining compassionate, high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in the applicable province.
• Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge.
• Experience working with seniors and with unregulated care providers preferred.
• Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long term care an asset.
• Strong drive, respect and an understanding of the emotional and physical demands of the role.
• Focus on teamwork and customer service with the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
• Computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
• Current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with provincial standards.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to build trusted relationships with residents and families.
• Implement and evaluate care plans and communicate changes as required.
• Complete and ensure resident assessments, care plans and documentation are up-to-date.
• Teach, delegate and direct unregulated care providers with coaching and mentorship.

RPNs are responsible for providing planned, patient-oriented, goal-directed nursing care in accordance with the provincial standards of care.

RPNs are an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team who build trusted relationships with our residents, families and teams with continuous ongoing and effective communication.
