About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Pharmacy Manager/Operations Manager, the Registered Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Practice Assistant) participates in providing safe, competent, patient-centered care, prioritizing individual needs. Responsibilities include preparing, packaging, dispensing medication under supervision, compounding sterile and non-sterile forms, working with automation, inventory control, medication reconciliation, and participating in quality and safety programs.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
  • Licensure and registration in Nova Scotia as a Pharmacy Technician (NSCP) required
  • If no candidates meet the above, actively pursuing licensure will be considered
  • Pharmacy Practice Assistants may be considered if no licensed candidates are available
  • Drug administration by injection permit (asset)
  • BLS certification required
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy (asset)
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and chemotherapy precautions (asset)
  • Experience with unit dose systems, automation, decentralized cabinets (asset)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, inventory control, record keeping
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Mathematical skills related to medications
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of additional languages, especially French, is an asset

Compensation And Benefits

Registered Technician: $29.05 - $31.97 hourly

Pharmacy Practice Assistants: $24.97 - $28.99 hourly
