Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Manager of Pharmacy Development and Operational Support, the Registered Pharmacy Technician Operational Support will to ensure that prescriptions are dispensed accurately. This position will perform certain prescription dispensing functions in compliance with provincial and federal laws, standards and regulations which govern the practice of pharmacy. This role is committed to providing excellent patient care and utilizes superior communication skills within a fast-paced environment to service the needs of our home partners. Duties will be performed from a base pharmacy,, using secure company technologies to access systems in designated pharmacies requiring remote support.

Your Day To Day

• Collaborate with all members of the pharmacy team to ensure medication orders are dispensed accurately, safely, and in a timely manner.
• Using digital platforms to complete tasks
• Assist in onboarding new homes; data entry and checking as required
• Consult with members of the pharmacy management team via phone and email when there are unresolved issues surrounding day to day work functions.
• Maintain accurate, organized and complete resident health records ensuring appropriate documentation.
• Follow all provincial and federal laws, standards and regulations which govern the practice of pharmacy at all times.
• Participate in ongoing continuing education, remaining current in pharmaceutical, medical and professional bylaws, professional practice policies, and regulations in addition to corporate updates, policies, and standards.
• Available for weekend, evenings, statutory holiday and on-call rotations if required
• Available to travel and assist in all CareRx pharmacy locations when required
• Assist in a wide variety of projects and initiatives as required
  
  

What You Bring To The Team

• Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a related program.
• Current registration and in good standing with the applicable College of Pharmacists (RPhT).
• Preferred Minimum one year of specialty pharmacy experience (i.e. Long Term Care, Assisted Living, independent living experience).
• Proficiency in PacMed Core, PacVision, eMAR (Catalyst oneMAR, MedeCare and Point Click Care (PCC) software) required.
• Experience with Telus Health Kroll required .
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills and ability to interact with persons of varying levels of professional expertise in a professional and mature manner.
