Job summary

Central Pharmacy Services, a Loblaw/Shoppers Drug Mart division, is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Technician in Mississauga. You will verify prescriptions, ensure product quality, and support a high-volume filling environment.

The role emphasizes patient confidentiality, regulatory compliance, and teamwork. Qualifications include RPhT registration, at least 1 year in a pharmacy setting, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT).
• Minimum 1 year experience in a pharmacy environment (retail, hospital, LTC).
• Experience with high-volume filling environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy and legality of prescribed medications and verify quality.
• Count and reconcile narcotics and controlled substances.
• Maintain organized workflow to meet scheduled deliveries.
• Protect patient privacy and comply with regulations.
• Stay current with laws, standards, and workplace policies.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for ensuring accuracy of prepared medication by checking each prescription and ensuring legal compliance and product quality. This includes weekly strip packaged medications, compliance packages and all non-packaged products
• Responsible for ensuring appropriate corrections are completed when identified
• Accurately count and reconcile Narcotic and Controlled medications
• Responsible for checking products in an organized and efficient manner to maintain workflow and ensure delivery routes leave at their scheduled times
• Patient privacy and confidentiality is protected in accordance with regulations
• Keep current with and align with legal requirements, professional standards, and where provided, workplace policies and procedures
• Commitment to promoting a workplace of inclusiveness and belonging

What You Bring

• Licensed and registered with the College of Pharmacists as Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT), in good standing
• Liability insurance to legally practice as a RPhT
• A minimum of 1 year of continuous working experience in a pharmacy environment (Long Term Care, Hospital, or Retail)
• Experience with high volume filling environments is preferred
• Experience working with PacMed or PacVision is an asset
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Attention to detail
• Complete work with minimal supervision
• Teammate and Leadership skills
• Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
